J, I have had the same experience with options where things seem to go well, or not, but without seemingly obvious reason. I must admit, I don't use options as my main trading tool. I usually trade the shares because they leave me more of an out.
In Semi-equip, I have lost touch. I think the entire group is no longer "Blood in the Street", and don't really know how to call values. Because ESIO is coming out of a slump in their other product lines, I find them more interesting than a pure semi play. I also think they have a strong IP with dominance in their respective markets. So, it seems like an easier company to enter than a pure front end or back end company.
It would seem that the money will go to the back end players with all the demand for chips going crazy. Again, I am out of the loop, as to what new technology is driving sales. The 300 mm wafer is still a thought, where as a couple of years ago we thought companies would be converting right and left, which would have driven a whole range of equipment plays like ASYT, steppers, etc.
I have been focused more of communications and Internet plays. I like HLIT, but wonder if there isn't a little negative to play out before this company begins it rise off the bottom.
