wow, thats a lot of firms to check out! might just call some of them. At one time I felt this important and then someone put it like this:

if your pretty sure your stock is going to gap up, then sell it end of market, be in cash and buy it back pre market in the morning thus elimating any chance of bad news having it sold off before it opens. This also keeps buying power the same throughout the day. A small price to pay (commission) for the safty provided.

I am still forming my own rules on these kind of issues. I try to stay open minded. The few traders I have met and watched trade never hold overnight. A rule they say they just don't break. But that doesn't mean they have the best methods. Apparently there are some here that do hold overnight. Since you trade at a firm I was certainly not expecting you to practice this. You caught me offguard! Do many others that trade with you do this?

Either way a stop residing on the company's server sounds like the safest way to go! thanks for the info.
