I believe so, but it is still a pretty good word, and I am not sure that "laissez- faire" should be attached as part of the definition, since I believe that the welfare state, whatever its defects, is still essentially capitalist. The essence of capitalism is a free- market in capital. Although there may be ground rules to ensure fair play and stability, investment decisions are basically made by decentralized investors and lending institutions. Of course, there must also be substantial freedom in the exchange of goods and services, but interference there is less egregious.........
