hi doug,

'systray' is an application located in the lower right hand corner of your bottom task bar into which a bunch of start up icons go. leave it alone.

if you found a program running called 'screen saver', that must be your monkeys. since you have win95 and can't use w98 system tools, have you done this:

click on the start button\find\files and folders\enter the name 'screensaver'(without the quotes)\click find now

[note: be sure that in the above find search, that the 'look in' box has '(C:)' written in, or whatever drive is your primary]

when 'screen saver' is found, right click on it and choose delete.

if this is a repeat, my apologies. i can't recall what we did and did not try.
