Amazon ups price From the DBC News IPO report 5/14/97 ... a look at new stock offerings By Darren Chervitz, DBC News Amazon.com increases size, price of upcoming IPO Amazon.com upped the size and price of its upcoming IPO after the market closed Tuesday, according to lead underwriter Deutsche Morgan Grenfell. The online bookseller's revised deal is for 3 million shares at $14 to $16 each, vs. the original expected offering of 2.5 million shares at $12 to $14 each. The announcement comes on the same day Barnes & Noble unveiled its own Web site, which some observers said was done to deflect some of the spotlight from Amazon. Late Monday, Barnes & Noble also filed a lawsuit against its fledgling competitor alleging false advertising... dbc.com
