Bill, Dell certainly has a reputation for good manufacturing and quality, distribution too. What bothers me about them is their lack of R&D. Whhere do they get motherboards for their servers? Is it from Intel? If so, what if Intel starts de-emphasizing motherboards and chipsets to concentrate maximally on CPU chips, where they've fallen behind in capacity and even got caught or surpassed in performance at the desktop. The other major server vendors have their own motherboard capability, even chipsets in some cases. I know Intel "takes good care of Dell", but still, they could be left hanging out to dry for their lack of R&D.
