Hi Mike the USWest VDSL deployment--last I heard--was expected to be available to about a half million sub by 2004. There is a VDSL alliance [DMT] (which US west is a member) and a VDSL coalition[QAM], and the FSAN group which all have VDSL interests. You may want to peruse their sites. In North America, the companies that are at least testing VDSL are: Aliant, Bell Atlantic, Bell Canada, Bell south, SBC communications, Telus, and US West. In the USWest Phoenix deployment, they had a mere 16000 subs as of 2/00.
