I have some first hand knowledge of a procedure which absolutely guarantees no harm can be done to the guards. The prisoners are kept in cells. There is a large can in the cell in which they excrete, mainly urine. Twice a day they are allowed out in small groups, heads bowed. If they break out of their line they are killed instantly by the guards with drawn rifles. The small groups go to the outdoor latrine. After a few minutes they must return to the cell, again in single file. I know this procedure works. I watched it for 3 years and 7 months. I think it is more humane than risking killing an innocent person.
