thecow, yes, putting a different URL in has no effect. I've asked a news group and consensus was "that's the way it is".
It's not a big inconvenience since at least the MSN site tells you if you have mail [without opening the mail program].

Here's the funny part: sometimes the browser fails to open after a successful dialup. Then I open the browser manually and it goes to my desired site.
