Dr. J . said that roaming won't be a problem because 1) multichannel multimode phones will be common 2) the 2 world wide cell phone networks are being connected 3) in the longer run he expects that most voice and data will be go via the internet.
I don't quite understand what he said about #3 but I think he means that the internet will be the common connecting link for all the networks, and internet protocols are the same everywhere.
He also made the comment that Nokia says that there will be 1 billion cell phones in use within 2 years. CDMA growth should accelerate even more after 2002.
