When you defrag, some program is activated in the background and it often makes defrag start over. Try setting your screensaver to none and close or disable any virus programs. I've also heard that Real Player can interfere. As far as Norton is concerned, you are in Norton Country :) , most on this thread are fans. I for one think it helps a lot. Most problems I have heard of involve Crash Guard, which alerts you to too many potential problems.
