I hate to add insult to injury but I will:)

Do you have any recollection who the Bears passed on when they drafted Salaam? That year the Bears drafted one spot ahead of the Raiders who were rumored to be very hot on Salaam(a typical Raider tactic).
The Bears bit and took Salaam, the Raiders then "settled" for second best and took a "chump" named Napoleon Kaufman.

And the rest is history.............
