Licencing fees versus royalties. I guess it boils down to the amount of the fee. If the fee is heavy enough it could be better than royalties as I suspect royalties would be based on a percentage of sales whereas it appears the licencing fees are fixed monthly or quarterly payments. At least with fixed monthly or quarterly payments MSD should be able to project licencing revenue pretty accurately. I don't suppose there is any way of knowing if the fees would have annual escalation clauses built in. Comments?
