Comment: It certainly appears to me that organized religions with which I am familiar are suffering from serious membership decline...Perhaps the upside to this is that increasingly, owing to the relatively recent (in historical terms) competition from information sources other than the church and state, the individual has been empowered to derive his/her own "plane of spirituality" as opposed to that defined by the church or state...I come full circle here in stating that an individual, who chooses to go it without the church, may not find long lasting spiritual fulfillment unless taking responsibility upon him/herself to explore the wealth of wisdom literature that has been shaped by many generations of the best and the brightest of our ancestral spiritual thinkers...Methinks many today all too readily ignore the wealth of knowledge, understanding, wisdom, grace and peace that can fall out of our ancient sacred writings when read on whatever plane (from the literal to the esoteric) one is comfortable with (in their spiritual evolution through this life on this earth)...
