dougSF30, Most people suffer from an advanced case of "whatever will the neighbours think" and so act to give seeming conformity to whatever religion watches their doors.
The Muslim religion is intensly supervised with 5 public prayer periods per day. Lots of chance for the mullahs to make notes and see who is missing and to make a leter call to beat them with a stick(yes, that is what they do, and the beighbours cower and wonder if they are next).
This happens only in the most zealous countries. many muslim areas are far less intense in their actions, but the supervision is still there.
Here is an example is a muslim woman revolting against her parents.

In Quebec the RC priests were as intense in supervising their victims. Miss churhc and they came calling and would get you shunned if you persisted and other people would not let their kids play with yours.
The RC killed themselves in Quebec and in many other places.

The muslims were the leaders in mathematics and science, up until Mohammed, and then study of religious books became the mandated course of study and their science languished.
Of course this made them horrible warriors and unable to operate modern tech weapons, as was shown again and again by Israel and in desert storm. So they are self limiting as they agress their own people mainly.
Of course will some muslims differ? you bet. tell me chapter and verse where I am wrong.
