Off topic --- Heathkit ...

Talk about resurrecting old memories. My first system was a Heathkit: A Z80 and 48k RAM. It may seem odd, but the first thing one typed when the power came on was 'b', and the system added the 'oot' to complete the 'boot' command. This was done after hearing two beeps.

HDOS, Harbour BASIC, a hard-sector floppy holding 100k, and almost no software. After upgrading to CP/M, one could get SuperCalc and WordStar.

I later acquired MBASIC and MASM-80 from Microsoft, a tiny company in the software business at the time. Fortunately, I bought Microsoft equity (when available) too. I no longer have my early packages, but I still have the shares.

Thanks for the push down memory lane.

Cheers, PW.
