haqi, I once heard a message in a song that was very encouraging and uplifting. It talked about the grace of God, the goodness of his blessing and various other things. I didn't know who the singer was at the time and it didn't even matter, what mattered was that God's word was going forth through that message. What mattered was that the song was clean, pure, uplifting and caused the listeners to focus on giving God the glory that is due his name.
Later I learned the singer was Jimmy Swaggert, having never heard him preach but knowing he was a well known evangelist didn't change the fact that the song gave glory to God. After his fall I again reflected upon the song, and you know what...."THE SONG WAS NOT TARNISHED", only the man's reputation.
As to Jimmy Baker, I never heard one message of his until he was out of prison. That message I heard after he was out of prison spoke one thing loud and clear to me. God is to be lifted up above all things and the flesh is altogether vanity. I saw a man broken, repentive but not bitter towards God. I didn't hear him say that God let him down like the Jews did during WW2, I didn't see a man blaming God for his fall. What I saw was a man confessing up to his own foolishness, and sin yet testifying that God was true to his word and deserving of all glory and praise.
