The pressure tolerable depends both on the speed of pressurization and depressurization. How did the shrimpies do when you depressurized them?
It seems likely that as long as organisms are under substantial pressure the tolerance for heat can increase. But while there are examples of organisms that can live a few degrees below the freezing point because of chemical adaptations (sort of "antifreeze", I think it is difficult to raise the boiling point several hundred degrees -- and lava (not superheated boiling water) is very hot indeed.
Did you write up your experiments? This is very interesting and quite important stuff. I love to see the ant results.
