Barry: Pardon me for responding to you, but your posts have impressed me by consistently sticking to facts, and conclusions supported by evidence and logical thought. Granted, there may me disagreement on any conclusion, but your presentation is, IMO, highly professional. My question is.. isn't the DEC Alpha chip acknowledged as being faster than the pentium? Granted, they have similarities, (they both use positive & negative electric charges to create the 1 and 0 that underly all computer processing; but I think the Franklin Family could lay claim to discovering that "technology" <g> ). So WHY would somebody "steal" someone's technology, then intentionally modify it to be SLOWER than what they stole? I must be missing something here. Regards, Doug
