I would be careful re: gold until the XAU starts outperforming bullion. The good news on the gold shares is that they are very cheap. The bad news is that they look like they want to go lower before a major turn occurs. Gold shares are no hedge against a stock market drop. But a sharp fall in the dollar would touch off one heck of a rally.
