Your first premise is faulty (Celera has sequenced only one human), so it may be worthwhile to do a bit more research: Celera's Donor Pool Celera follows a strict Institutional Review Board (IRB) protocol, which allows for a pool of up to 30 individuals to be recruited for the human genome sequencing effort. Recruitment was done via self-referral, newspaper ads, and outreach activities to ensure ethnic diversity. Five individuals have been chosen from Celera's donor pool. These donors are men and women from a variety of self-disclosed ethnic backgrounds celera.com
