One has to wonder what kind of an impact this merger will have on Bookham. ETEK has an ongoing relationship with them. However, with PIRI in the merged entity will ETEK still need to rely on Bookham for AWGs? Or is demand strong enough to warrant the need for AWGs from both PIRI and Bookham? If so, will someone eventually buyout Bookham? At Bookham's valuation, it looks like SDLI pulled off a major coup with the PIRI acquisition.
