Protana Appoints Ronald C. Hendrickson, Ph. D., As Head of Business Development
ODENSE, Denmark, July 10 /PRNewswire/ -- Protana A/S, a privately held, proteomics technology company, today announced the appointment of Ronald C. Hendrickson, Ph. D. as head of business development. Hendrickson joins Protana A/S from Corixa Corporation, in Seattle, Washington, where he established and led the proteomics efforts to identify protein antigens and diagnostic markers.
Dr. Hendrickson's accomplishments include being the first to identify an MHC Class I human tumor antigen that results from post-translational modification, a phenomena that is not predictable from genomic data but critical for understanding disease and developing certain therapeutics. In addition, he has pushed the envelope on mass spectrometry instrument performance to sequence unknown proteins a hundred times more sensitive than previous methods. Prior to joining Protana, Dr. Hendrickson lead the proteomics effort at Corixa Corporation to identify tumor antigens and diagnostic markers for Breast Cancer and Tuberculosis.
