Seems like Intels yields are so good the lower speed parts will be more expensive that higher speed units.

This is because processors are too fast for the software. Optimal performance can only be achieved by properly balancing software and hardware speeds. Imagine running a 386 33MHz version of Tetris on a 1.4GHz PIV CPU. The pieces would fall so fast that you would rapidly tire of the game, and probably throw the computer in the garbage.

Look for a strong move to slow computers down over the next six months. 350MHz is about the sweet spot for Microsoft software, so I'm betting that VIA processors will dominate by years end.
