The site has always removed inactive threads from the indexes in the interest of speed. I think the cutoff has always been that if a thread has been inactive for 90 days, it gets removed from the indexes, but not from the database.

From a database standpoint, 30k+ records is nothing at all, and won't slow down thread title searches noticeably at all, so I'm going to request that searches include *all* threads. It'll likely take a while before that's implemented since we're doing bugs first; feature changes later.
