Considering today's merger announcement, how important if any at all, will this quarter's earnings announcments for SDLI and JDSU be? SDLI is now linked to JDSU stock price and therefore the probable blowout quarter that SDLI will be reporting may do nothing for the stock price of both companies. Given the time frame the ETEK merger took to complete (about 6 mos), it's likely the SDLI merger will probably take about the same amount of time. I don't the completion of the ETEK merger has any bearing on any anti-trust concerns that may arise. This merger will be looked at under a separate microscope and I do expect it to go through. I think the arbs are playing a dangerous game w/ this one because if they short JDSU and go long SDLI and for some reason Justice shoots it down, the arbs get killed. Either way, JDSU at this price has nowhere to go but up. Anyone holding JDSU on Friday lost a bunch today but for some reason I don't feel too bad. We're looking at a true gorilla in the making.
