I would argue that the falling gas price is the counter trend movement. After all energy prices have been up in general for over a year, and that is the long term trend. Perhaps you are the one who is short-term minded 8^D The CPI should show an upward surge with last month's gas price spike factored in. It isn't a long term trend (since gas prices are now falling), but we all know how short-term minded the market can be sometimes.
