Hi Di:

Although I am a perma-bull on qcom and that selling put is a bullish strategy, right now, i am staying away from any option play on qcom. The main reason is that there are news coming out in the next few days: wednesday will be the announcement from Korea government; next week earnings report and more importantly how the market will react to the guidance which will be given at that time.

a short term option play on qcom will be similar to a game of chance since we still don't know which direction the stock will be in the near term. While granted the stock has been oversold, hence, a bullish strategy like shorting put is desirable, however, due to the recent weakness of qualcomm, I would think that there are other stocks which are more appealing for a s/t play.

best to you

paul
