We are debating the meaning of words. Words are merely symbols and have meaning ascribed to them by humans. Humans are imperfect sorts and often disagree about the meanings and usages of words, etc. For any other human to insist that only one meaning may be attributed to a word such as "felon" or just about any other word and that words may not have different meanings in different contexts or in different settings is simply to ignore reality. To continue to insist after a rational explanation of a differing opinion that yours is the only correct opinion concerning such usage, is simply ridiculous and the kind of behavior only a fool engages in.
