I generally respect Martin Peretz, but I could never understand how he got into boosting Gore. The funny thing is that Gore and Bradley were the two favorite potentials for years at The New Republic! Both are terrible candidates, and in similar ways. Anyway, Clinton gave us a Republican Congress, Gore will give us the White House, and the New Republican Era will truly have begun.........
