In a conference call this morning, Merrill Lynch analysts Steve Fortuna, Steven Milunovich and Joe Osha offered second-quarter projections, with Dell Computer, EMC, Intel and Sun Microsystems leading the pack.
So does Merrill like Intel or don't they?

Last week, Salomon Smith Barney came out with negative comments on the chip sector
However, Merrill is still bullish on the sector, saying that the quarter should be excellent, even through September
Also, they say spot chip prices are not a problem
Wall Street will also be more realistic on their growth projections for wireless handsets
Merrill's favorites are: LSI, ATML, CY, AMD, BRCM, PMCS, AMCC, and VTSS
Revenues should grow at 30% in the 26 stocks Merrill tracks
Without INTC, however, the remaining companies would be growing revenues at 43%
Merrill doesn't see much upside for either INTC or TXN
