A contract to pay $60 a month for two years, when you can already get DSL from SBC and others at $40 with a one-year contract. Even if DSL prices don't fall further in a year, you're out $20/mo. x 2yrs. Even if you discount at credit-card rates of 1.25%/mo., you've just given SBC a present value over $400 for an unknown quantity PC. If DSL prices do fall (and why wouldn't they?), you're out more. I'd rather bolt together a $250 kit from Fry's, if I hadn't already gotten a nearly free PC back when the ETrade rebate was worth real money. -mb
