Hi Marc,

I was going to PM you but it doesn't look like we're cluttering up the thread with this discussion!

I asked ML when I bought PMCS if it could be classed as Cdn content as they were based in BC but they said no - something to do with PMCS not really being a Cdn company even though they're based here. I think there might be some stuff on this way back on this thread - it needs checking up on I think.

I'd love PMCS to be classed as Cdn. I wonder who makes the final decision - Rev Can??? Somehow I don't think Rev Can is going to accept an argument that they're denying PMCS access to capital - not looking at their share price. I wonder how many investors in the US know that PMCS is in Canada?

I agree with your remarks in the last paragraphs about the brokerage houses - my last broker was known for doing what was expedient and we had lots of 'discussions'.

It's interesting when you look at the NT and JDS situations - NT trades on the TSE and NYSE and it appears you can buy the shares on either exchange and they're all classed as Cdn content. JDSU has separate shares for the TSE and NASDAQ and the NASDAQ shares aren't Cdn content. You can't flip back and forth between the two - well, you can but not without getting hammered in your RRSP.

It's an interesting situation - if you hear any more please let me know. I'll ask my new broker about this (still ML) and see if he has any wisdom to impart. I'll also see if I can find PMCS' last annual report (it'll be on their web site if I don't have a copy) and see if that sheds any light on the matter.
