New commentary by C.K. Cooper, which follows small and microcap oil and gas stocks:

The recent decline in PDC share prices below the $5.00 per share level, represents a very solid buying opportunity in our opinion. While we recognize that PDC continues to be a partnership driven organization, we do anticipate marked improvements in natural gas production in the 2nd and 3rd quarters of 2000. While commodity prices have shown slight weakness this past week, the net prices to be realized on un-hedged production still is remarkable for this time of the year.
We believe that PDC to a certain extent has downplayed some of its E&P activities in the 1 st half of the year, and believe that this continued transference of value from the partnership segment of their business to the E&P segment will result in better share valuation(s) going forward. We
re-iterate our current ratings of Long-Term: Strong-Buy, Short-Term: Buy, and believe that at prices below $5.00 per share, that accumulation should be made by both short-term and longer term investors.
