<<MORE: You may buy CSCO with predicted growth (after acquisitions) of 41.26% (FY ending 7/00) or FFIV with predicted growth of 257.62% (FY ending 9/00). >>
Are you serious when you compare CSCO to FFIV?
For the record, I own both companies, unfortunately.
Although posters continue to correct you, you on the other hand, continue to ramble about F5 vs. CSCO, don't you get it?? Frankly I'm insulted!!
What the F***? CSCO generates 6 billion in revenue every 3 months, 500 million in cash EVERY month, they are using their suppliers money to conduct business, while demand money from their customers ASAP!! Compare revenues, market cap, cash positions, DSO, liabilities before you compare pennies per share. CSCO does not even think about FFIV, as a company, let alone a competitor.
How hard is it to grow 300%+ when one starts at ground zero? CSCO's 40% growth is coming off of a HUGE revenue base. Furthermore, everytime CSCO feels that they are being left behined they acquire companies that puts them at the forefront of the desired technology within months. When the street questioned CSCO's acquisition of Cerent for $7B with no revenue about a year ago, managment wasn't phased. Today Cerent is expected to generate $1 billion in revenue for the company. Can FFIV do that?
I believe there's a fundmental shift taking place in web traffic managment and, IMPO, FFIV is being left in the dust. Look at how ATON and FDRY have rebounded while FFIV is nowhere near its high. If that's not a red flag, I don't know what is.
You're only prayer is that a decent company takes over FFIV, just as long it's not Lucent. If it is Lucent, then kiss your hard earned money good bye!!
Like I said, I own CSCO and F5.
