Curious Networks names Casey Cowell to board
CHICAGO, July 10 (Reuters) - Curious Networks, a private technology provider that helps deliver information through voice, wireless or other Internet devices, said on Monday it named Casey Cowell, co-founder of modem-maker U.S. Robotics, to its board.
The company said Cowell, who also serves on the board of 3Com Corp. <COMS.O> which now owns U.S. Robotics, invested in the Chicago-based company, but did not disclose details. Curious Networks said it raised $3.5 million in its initial round of funding, which includes the investment by Cowell.
Curious Networks provides technology to help companies launch voice, mobile and Internet-based applications that are compatible with all industry standards including HTML (Hyper Text Markup Language), XML (eXtensible Markup Language), WAP (Wireless Application Protocol), and VoiceXML.
