Implosion of Traditional Business Models......
Amazon.com is a traditional business model which is finally being valued as such.
The key value is not in their leverage and cost savings.
Amazon.com needs get out of direct retail and become a shipping/fullfillment services company that works just one step ahead of and in partnership with UPS, FedEx, etc.
For the doors to personal privacy will fast be closing. People will NOT keep their private/personal data/information with Amazon as long as Amazon is trying to "sell" them something.
Amazon needs to extract itself from the traditional retail business model and simply "serve" individuals by offering open, online, automated, ubiquitous shipping/fullfillment tools and services which others can use from anywhere, anytime.
Amazon.com is NOT the brand.
For the net makes individuals the brand.
I am persuing this strategy and it's working.
Jeff needs to begin to "see" the world from this different mindset. Give ALL power, control, flexibility, rights and trust to the individual.
Longer term, people are not going to trust Amazon.com because all business models assumes they, not the end user, has more power.
Here's a question which provides a perfect example:
Would Jeff allow the National Education Association to buy through ONE Amazon account?
There goes Amazon's individual data.
And this trend will happen.
Amazon wants to have their cake and eat it, too: backend, middlend and frontend.
But the net will naturally allow for a new processs of reaggregation and consolidation to take place. Amazon will not be able to remain sticky enough. For you can't automate the creation and maintenence of Personal Trust - which is the holy grail of the net.
And that's why the NOT.COM phase is about over.
Now we are beginning a completely New Stage where INDIVIDUALS will learn the value of creating their own trust and energy.
Peace.
