INRANGE Technologies Announces SAN Solution Partner Agreement with VERITAS Software
INRANGE's FC/9000 Fibre Channel Director to be Included in VERITAS' SAN Management Solution
MOUNT LAUREL, N.J., July 11 /PRNewswire/ -- With the capability to connect storage resources to a heterogeneous set of servers on an any-to-any basis, Storage Area Networks (SANs) continue to gain acceptance as a valuable business solution for managing the high volume of data in today's Internet economy. As more and more of these network types are deployed throughout corporate enterprises, key management initiatives include reducing the complexity of SAN administration and equipping SANs with ``data-center'' class products that can protect data availability.
To address this need for highly available, centrally managed storage networks, INRANGE Technologies announced today that it has entered the SAN Solution Partner Program with VERITAS Software, a provider of enterprise-class storage management software. Under this agreement, both VERITAS Software and INRANGE Technologies will be implementing a certification and interoperability environment with INRANGE's 64-port FC/9000 Fibre Channel Director and VERITAS' SAN data availability and SAN management software solutions.
Through this program, the companies certify interoperability of their solutions, allowing users to plan for interoperable storage networks. INRANGE will add a complementary management layer to its IN-VSN(TM) family of Virtual Storage Networking solutions, of which the FC/9000 Fibre Channel Director is the cornerstone. IN-VSN is a suite of director-level switching platforms (supporting Fibre Channel and ESCON standards), optical networking platforms, and channel extension technologies that gives customers the means to build large-scale storage networks that can be extended to remote locations, business continuance sites, and business partners worldwide.
