David L. Johnston Appointed to Board

SPOKANE, WA, July 11, 2000; Latitude Minerals Corp. (LTU.CDNX) is pleased to announce the appointment of David L. Johnston to the Board of Directors.

Mr. Johnston is a professional mining engineer who brings to the Board a vast amount of mine operations and management experience that the Company feels will be key to it's current development and future growth. Mr. Johnston graduated from the University of British Columbia with a BASc in Mining Engineering as well as a MASc in Mineral Engineering. Over 30 years with Cominco, Mr. Johnston served as President of two of Cominco's subsidiaries, Highland Valley Copper Corp. and Pine Point Mines, and he also served as Vice President of Cominco Metals from 1985 - 1990.

Mr. Johnston's expertise will be a valuable asset to Latitude as it moves toward a feasibility and production decision on the Pan Gold Deposit in Nevada.

Latitude Minerals Corp. is a junior exploration company engaged in exploring and developing a number of advanced-stage gold deposits in the western United States. While the chief focus of Latitude is precious metals, the company is also evaluating a number of opportunities that fall within the corporate view of advancing into PGE and other strategic metals used in high-tech applications.
