well you've received some fine advice here so far, imo. but because i just can't resist... <g3> .... here are two other things you might try. i really think tc's ms winup articles should put you right, though.

try running a couple win98 system tools, system file checker (sfc) and version conflict manager (vcm).

clickstream to access these tools is start\programs\accessories\system information\tools. both sfc and vcm appear on the drop down menu

i note that WUV3IS.dll is a system file. mine has a version number of 5.4.29.0. maybe you have more than one file and they are doing their little '.dll hell' routine on you. <g3> if you have more than one, you can keep the most current in place and, rather than deleting the others, simply rename them with an .abc extension. doing this takes them out of the loop, so to speak, yet keeps them around in case you find you'd like to change them back to their original names.
