That deal is causing raging debates in the outdoor community and BunnyHugger types because there have been a rash of black bear attacks in the last month or so in Canada and the US, including a woman killed and chowed on in Great Smoky NP. The BunntHuggers are really taking it in the chops because they like to claim that there are no, or very few, recorded black bear kills in the last couple hundred years in North America. That is total BS of course, but I have to admit that this is a bit unusual.

The lesson from Canada is don't wear a WalkMan and jog alone in a suburban military base where you know an ornery bear is. World class athlete, or not, you can't outrun a bear. Could make a joke, but I think I will let the dead RIP.
