The BP-Amoco news will be followed by the other majors. Even though they will use some cash flow to pay down debt, they have no choice but to spend more for exploration. In an election year it would be bad politics for Bush to have to explain to the public why the majors are not spending more to find oil. This should be a resumption of the secular upward move in energy stocks of all shapes and sizes. Enjoy.
