Eski, you can do the same thing.

YOU can also place "fake" bids and asks and lift them in seconds.

My condolences if one of your "fake" bids is filled, though. Thems the breaks.

The fact is, a bid placed on an ECN is binding. If it gets hit, it gets hit, and you can't go crying to the ECN saying "but it was only a fake bid - I didn't MEAN for it to be filled!".

You have just as much opportunity to enter "fake" bids as does a MM using an ECN.

It's not manipulation. It's a tactic - a tactic that you have equal access to.
