Not all other forms of taxation are necessarily "acceptable" either. But in the case of a tax on individual income, specifically, it places a lien on the ability of an individual to create wealth for him or her self. This is done in the name of "need" either the need of the State or the State's proclamation that some group "needs" the benefits of that wealth more than the individual has a right to it.

If you do not agree that the State has this "right" to confiscate wealth from you because of perceived needs, then you face arrest and incarceration at the point of a gun. It is not a voluntary system, but one which, like the Mafia schemes of old, requires you to pay "vigorish" -- or else.

The only way they can enforce this confiscatory system on a people attempting to be free is by coercive force, or the threat of coercive force. It also helps if you spoon feed the media, and teach children in school that this is the way it always was and always must be, so that later in life when they are adults they do not question it, but instead mouth parrot bromides such as, "You can't escape death and taxes."
