Good analysis. I particularly like the part about "going up on good news". The present price action certainly seems to reflect so much confusion and negative feelings on the part of many holders that they just want out and don't believe the news. Maybe what we are seeing is an exit by those speculators that bought it only because it was going up. When the last of them are gone, and a different group (investors) buy in, the price will turn. The fact that positive broker reports mean nothing means people don't trust their broker on this one, they are fed up and want an end to the pain of holding.
Of course there's always the possibility that we are wrong and they are right. The more I think about it, the more LEAPS appeal to me on this one. I think you and DownSouth may have the right idea. But when to buy the LEAPS? The fact that they are so expensive indicates might indicate that either QCOM is expected to continue high volatility or that lots of folks want LEAPS for this one.
