I agree with most of what you said. As a JDSU shareholder I appear -- thus far -- to be one of the few who is actually delighted by this acquisition. As a SDLI shareholder, I feel a trifle let-down....but I can live with SDLI on the JDSU team (as opposed to with LU, CSCO or GLW). I, too, felt that SDLI -- on its own -- could have succeeded tremendously -- as it already has. IMHO, those who feel JDSU paid too much or that the deal isn't worth it don't yet fully realize what a gem SDLI really is. That notwithstanding, I have no clue how the "market" will react in the short term. In the long term, however, hats off to the JDSU management team imho.
