Ice, I tend to be a bit of a bunny hugger myself, but anyone who thinks bears won't kill people, just because we taste bad, is only fooling himself. Ditto for gators, crocs, pumas, poisonous snakes and spiders, etc. It is sort of like the folks who built homes on the Everglades and then wondered why their small children and pets "disappeared." You have to use common sense around animals. Television and movies are very misleading in this regard. All animals are friendly on tv, well, except for white middle aged male humans. <g>

Every year here in Texas, some hunter is killed by a buck deer. The Rosie O'Donnells think it's a lie because deer never attack them and their bodyguards, but their families still have to bury the unfortunate.

Of course, I think the problem is human overpopulation. Heck, the poor old bear has to live somewhere.

Or, as the old song goes, "Some days, the bear will eat you, Some days you eat the bear." Apologies to Joan Armatrading, who stole the lyric from a saying much older than her.
