That particular piece about CNXT is not about DSL or cable modem. It is making the normal dial access connection more efficient. Without looking, I would say that this isn't a heavy growth niche as DSL and cable modems and perhaps fixed wireless solutions will be eating away at the dial access market. However, for someone like me who travels a lot, dial access is still very important. It is pretty much the least common denominator for remote access and every laptop sold will require some form of dial access. If this new V.92 standard provides benefits over other standards, it will of course offer an opportunity to grow through grabbing market share rather than actually growing the market.
