BEA Teams With NEC For Web Sites In Japan 07/11/00 Newsbytes, 07/12/2000 00:23 TOKYO, JAPAN, 2000 JUL 11 (NB) -- By Adam Creed, Newsbytes. Aimed at building up an e-commerce development business in Japan, US-based e-commerce company BEA Systems [NASDAQ:BEAS] and Japan's NEC Corp. [NASDAQ:NIPNY] have fextended a strategic alliance. The two companies will together market and develop an e-business offering targeted at Japanese companies wanting to transact with customers and suppliers online. The alliance involves teams from both companies developing an e-commerce product based on BEA's e-commerce and transaction-processing systems and NEC's systems integration services. This will expand on NEC's iBestSolutions - an NEC unit focused on developing e-commerce-enabled Web sites for Japanese businesses.
