| I am not, be it noted, predicting revolutionary changes. One does not know how important the moderate Northeastern Republicans will be to holding majorities in the Congress, and, in any case, gradualism is best, so that people's expectations and plans are not totally trashed. But I think there is a good chance of major changes, such as partial privatization of Social Security, tax simplification, tax reduction, further deregulation, moving more programs into grants administered by the states, and so on....... |
